Curating the conversation at UK Construction Week

David Pead, CBE Marketing Network

There is no shortage of events in the built environment. No shortage of panels, presentations or talking points. The challenge is not creating content, it is creating the right conversation.

As part of UK Construction Week, the Construction and Built Environment Marketing Network has been invited to curate a series of sessions designed to do exactly that. Taking place at ExCeL London from 12 to 14 May 2026, and co-located with Futurebuild, the event brings together the full breadth of the built environment under one roof, creating a shared platform for discussion at a moment of significant change for the industry. This is our opportunity to shape a set of conversations that reflect where the sector is now and where it is heading next.

What are the questions that construction marketers, business development teams and commercial leaders are actually grappling with day to day? Where are the gaps between strategy and delivery? And who is best placed to speak with authority, honesty and relevance?

The sessions have been built carefully, bringing together a mix of perspectives across the sector. The intention is not to present polished case studies, but to open up real conversations about how marketing is evolving across the sector.

This includes how teams are responding to shifting pipelines and market uncertainty, how digital tools and AI are changing workflows and decision making, and how marketing is being repositioned as a driver of business performance rather than a support function.

Each session has been shaped around individuals who are actively delivering work, leading teams and navigating these challenges in real time. The aim is to move beyond theory and focus on what is actually happening on the ground.

Over the coming weeks, we will be taking a closer look at each of the sessions in turn, exploring the themes, the speakers and the discussions they are set to unlock.
